Filling in is free. You pay to finish.
Typing on a PDF, ticking boxes and signing costs nothing here and always will — the browser you already have can nearly do it. What you pay for is the finished document: no footer line, as many as you like, and a Word version if you need one.

Before you pay us anything
If you are on a Mac, Preview will fill in forms and sign them for free. On Windows, Edge will fill in form fields and let you draw a signature. Those are genuinely fine for a simple document, and we wrote the guides for them: Preview, Edge, Chrome. Come back when you need a reusable signature, a flattened result, a phone, or Word.
Questions
- What exactly is free?
- Opening, filling in, ticking, dating and signing a PDF is free and unlimited — no account needed. Saving the finished document is free 3 times every 30 days, and those saved files carry a small "Filled with PDFpad · pdfpad.app" line in the footer.
- What does the £2 document pass do?
- It unlocks everything Pro offers for one specific document for 24 hours: no footer line, no export limit on that file, and Word export. It is a one-off payment with no subscription attached.
- How do I cancel?
- One click on your account page, whenever you like. The subscription runs to the end of the period you have paid for and then stops. We do not ask you to email anyone or sit through a retention flow.
- Do you refund?
- If PDFpad did not do what you expected, email us within 30 days and we will refund it. We would rather give the money back than argue about it.
- Are the prices inclusive of VAT?
- Yes. Payments are handled by our merchant of record, who charges the right tax for your country and shows the total before you pay. Prices are shown in pounds in the UK, dollars in the US and euros in the EU.
- What happens to my documents?
- Nothing, because we never receive them. The editor runs in your browser; our server only ever sees the page count, the file size and a SHA-256 fingerprint used to count your free saves.
